See Ya Layer

I was a little more excited than I should've been when Nordstrom was holding one of their infamous sales online. While browsing through, I found this drop-dead gorgeous satin slipdress by J.O.A. (similar here and here). I fell in LOVE with the back detail and knew I needed a way to highlight that (but we'll get to that in a sec). The satin material is so lightweight and perfect for spring weather, and the blush color is all the more fitting for this time of year. To go for a more laid-back uptown vibe, I threw on my lace-up kitten heel booties and a high-neck mesh long-sleeve bodysuit (the cherry on top!). I love this combination so much mostly because of how unexpected it is. Some may say layering is not a good idea, but layering is my favorite thing about styling and fashion - it's what keeps it so fun and personal. One of the tricks with layering is to stay away from looking too bulky or disorganized. A perfect way to achieve this is to add a belt right at the smallest part of your body - the waist. This will bring all your pieces together, cinch your waist and seal it with a bow. I opted for a simple belt to keep the attention on the details and form of dress. So remember, always keep things interesting and new! Pick up an old dress or top in your closet and completely reinvent it by adding some pieces to it. How many outfits can one possible put together? #TheLimitDoesNotExist
